Do you have a treasure trove of physical keepsakes tucked away in boxes, drawers, and envelopes?
Your mind tells you they are clutter but your heart loves the emotions and memories attached to each piece of paper or object. You know you don't really need that ticket stub or your daughter's artwork to remember it by - but you can't let it go.
However, we do need these things to remember sometimes. Our brain gets full and we can only bring up a maximum number of memories at any one time. Lots of precious ones don't stay top of mind. Holding on to all the "clutter" helps access memories that are buried. But only if you can enjoy the objects.
What if you could keep the ticket, artwork or letter by taking a photo and making a memory book? You will preserve the item but reduce the mental load of the clutter. Plus those items will now be out of the box and in a form you can enjoy them.
In this short course, you will learn how to turn your paper clutter and memorabilia into a clutter-free memory book. You'll discover simple techniques for taking quality photos of everything from kids' artwork and tickets to souvenirs and documents and ways to enjoy them.
Who is this class for?
This class is for you if you have memorabilia that feels disorganised or more like clutter than treasure. It is especially for you if you are wanting to downsize but having problems letting go of keepsakes.
What you will learn:
- What items are good candidates for digitising (they don't have to be flat).
- How to set up a space to photograph these objects so you get a clean result.
- How to take beautiful photos with your smart phone or big camera.
- Editing techniques to bring out the details, colour and remove the background in these photos.
- How to organise and cull large piles of papers like kids' artwork and school work, letters and cards.
- Projects you can make with these digitised items.
- What do to with the originals once photographed.
The goal for this class is that you are able to lighten your mental or physical load of the keepsakes we collect and can actually enjoy them in an organised manner once you complete a project.
- Access to the recording of the short course one hour class so you can watch it on your own time. (video)
